The island of Hvar is the longest and sunniest Croatian island.
Hvar, the island in the Adriatic Sea, is one of the most beautiful islands in the world according to Travelers Magazine. It is 68 km long and up to 10.5 km wide. About 11,000 inhabitants live on the island. The island of Hvar is administratively part of Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia.
The air temperature is around 10 °C in the winter months and 26 °C in July. There is a lot of sunshine (on average 260 days). The water temperature in the summer months is around 23 – 26 °C.
THE BAY OF
VRBOSKA
The idyllic town of Vrboska is located on the northeast coast of the island of Hvar in the beautiful island world of the Dalmatia region. The town’s rows of houses are located on both sides of an inlet that is just over a kilometer long. Numerous small bridges lead across the sea, giving the picturesque Vrboska its incomparable charm. To the left and right of the bay there are various beautiful beaches within walking distance.

STARIGRAD
The historical pearl of the island of Hvar is the town of Stari Grad, which was founded as early as 384 BC.
It is located on the northwestern side of the island in a deep and sheltered bay, which is a safe and unavoidable harbor for all sailors in the Adriatic. This ancient and historic city is breathtaking with its cultural sights.
A town with numerous cultural and historical monuments
JELSA
Jelsa is a small harbor town and is located in the neighboring bay to Vrboska.
A cycle path leads directly from the port of Vrboska along the sea to Jelsa (journey time approx. 15 minutes). It borders on the two highest peaks on the island: St. Nicolas in the west and Hum in the east.
Jelsa is an important tourist center and has a rich tradition in the tourism industry and has numerous cultural and historical monuments. These include churches from the 13th and 14th centuries and many old buildings and squares.
